Labor of Love

I volunteered to make these mini apple pies for the International Food Festival at Parrish's school. I thought making single size serving would make it easier on the parent volunteers who were serving the food. I didn't know I would be up until midnight rolling out pie crusts!

Now I want you to respond to this.......I had a hard time figuring out what food represents American cuisine, especially since we mostly eat Asian or Italian. Besides apple pie, what do you think of when you think of American food?

  1. When we did this in Spain we served Kraft Mac & Cheese. Sad, yes but can you get any more American than boxed food?

  2. The american hamburger, grilled on the patio. Your pies look good, what a super mom you are for doing all that work!

  3. Thanks for the comments! Yes, nothing more American than boxed food, unfortunately....or pre-made from Costco.
Meatloaf! Yes, and maybe casseroles too. Didn't think of Jambalaya. In fact, corn fritters and hashbrowns now come to mind.
